MORE ABOUT SJH HANDCRAFTED
Welcome... My name is Sarah and I have always loved crafts in various forms. It started with making items on my sewing machine for friends and family but one day a class in leather work caught my eye. I took that class and from there I was hooked. Working with this material, appreciating its source, it's durability and the potential for taking a simple item to the luxurious is what makes it extra special.
I enjoy working with clean lines and bright colours which results in timeless items that can be used and treasured for years to come.
All the items you see are handmade. I cut each piece individually, hand sew and finish every item myself. This creates an individual item just for you. On occasions I even find myself experimenting with dyes and patterns directly on the leather which creates something truly unique.
Leather is a bi-product of the food industry. I use vegetable tanned leather where suitable for the design as it develops a natural patina which improves the appearance and feel of the product over time. This is an item that has the potential to last a life time with a just a little care and attention.
If you have any questions in relation to any of the items you see or would like further information, do not hesitate to contact me.

Here is a short video showing just a few of the processes involved in bag making. The video was created by the talented @sixeightvideo who was a pleasure to work with. I'm not one for being this side of the camera but I surprisingly loved every part of it.
